Rocks of light

THIS IS MY LAST PERSONAL PHOTO PROJECT, “ROCKS OF LIGHT”. I DID IT WITH MY FRIENDS (AND PHOTOGRAPHERS) JORDI MARTÍN AND DAVID ESCOBOSA JUST BEFORE LEAVING CATALUNYA, BY USING THE TECHNIQUE OF LIGHTPAINTING, AND FOCUSING ON SEVERAL MEGALITHIC MONUMENTS OF THE PREHISTORIC ROUTE IN LA ROCA DEL VALLÈS.

I love the light, I guess because without it photography can’t exist. That’s why one of the photo techniques that has interested me in the last years is lightpainting. Using different light stuff, in a dark environment, painting the most interesting elements in our frame.

La Roca del Vallès, a small village near my native city Granollers, exhibits many megalithic monuments that I found out when I was a kid. Since then, I visited them several times by bicycle, running or walking. I thought it could be fun try and take photos to some of these old monuments. At this point my last personal project, “Rocks of light”, was born.

It’s impossible try to do this kind of photos alone, so I asked for help to two good friends, Jordi Martín and David Escobosa. Thank you both for sharing with me all those nights. There’s nothing better than sharing such good moments with friends.

The Prehistoric Route

There’s 7 monuments located in Céllecs mountains, four of them are megalithic, the Céllec’s Dolmen, Can Gol’s Dolmen I and II and Can Planes´s Dolmen. On the other hand, some interesting elements like Can Planes’s Holed Stone, Scorpion’s Stone, Swallow’s Stone, Can Gol’s Holed Stone, Crosses’s Stone and Mill’s Plate.
